Children Take Care Program
This program works to prevent homelessness and provide safe shelter for vulnerable children to protect them from the often devastating effects of homelessness. We have been providing shelter for orphans, victims of natural calamities, Children of disabled people and homeless kids at our SCIF’S home. The shelter is a 24-hour intake facility for short-term care of kids who are in crisis and need an immediate placement. Because of the emergency nature of the situations, admission procedures are streamlined so that these children are permitted to stay with us legally.
Presently we are providing home shelter service for 5children. When a child becomes our family member, one of our social workers develops service plan and meets with all of the interested parties of the child: his/her family members, other social agencies, court personnel to arrange for further counseling, to advocate on the child’s behalf, and to decide what long-term living arrangements would be in the child’s best interest. Sometimes the decision will be to even transfer him/her to Residential Care, Foster Care or another Home shelter program given the suitable place for the child to live in.
